The Nile Christian Student Fellowship had their final year brethren week to mark the ending of their final semester for their fellow brothers and sisters celebrating their last semester for the session. It was a three day event which started from Friday down to Sunday. They had a conference on Saturday which gathered few students. The following day on the Sunday evening was the dinner held and to appreciate those who attended, Certificates were issued to the participants as well as the guest speakers.
The Sports department organised its second table tennis tournament again for both male and female students of the university. It had (32) players who registered and participated.The tournament was hot as lots of players had tough times with their opponents who were good.The tournament ended with Umar Ibrahim (A scholarship student) who also represented Nigeria in the table tennis as the winner. Last year also was when he won the gold medal for the Nile Games and also others during the WAUG at port Harcourt.He is representing the University in the coming World University Games in Napoli, Italy
The Nile Charity Club had the maiden Charity Cup which always takes place yearly. The tournament is aimed at raising funds which will be used to help the less privilege. The tournament had 16 teams and as always and there were edibles and small chops available for sale also in order to raise funds for the charity work carried out. The winers of the last tournament also won the tournament again, Budget FC and carted away with the trophy and gold medals
The Business Club of Nile University of Nigeria organized a Nama day event on 4th April, 2019 themed “who has the best grill?” which was held on the school convocation ground. The event was scheduled to begin from 2:00pm. The event which was diligently organized featured various vendors along with a magic show, lots of music, dance and especially meat.
There were seven (7) vendors present for the event. As the vendors settles in their stall, students begin to circulate around to patronize each vendor. There were different varieties of foods and drink. The event area was filled with different aromas from each vendors
Further into the event, the students gathered around to listen to a young talented rapper, Michael Uzomah aka Dawn, a 100 level law student of the university as he entertained us with his talents and there was also some dance moves displayed by some of the business club Excos
Around 5pm, there was a magic show display by a well talented magician, Nosa Jubril from Rubik’s Entertainment Magic. The students present were all wearing a smiling and surprised face as they were wowed by the magician.
The Charity Club in collaboration with Touch Lives Club and Student Representative Council (SRC) also organised its yearly talent show. Its the third of its kind in the school and lots of students having different talents to present participated and showcased their abilities and gift.It has (8) participants and the Judges had to go through rigorous process in selecting the best amongst them.After many performances, the winner was chosen and issued gift.As always, the talent show was also a means f getting funds for charity work to be done by the club in orphan homes and IDP camps around the country
The Student Affairs Department has organised yet again its maiden Paintball Series in the university premises and had in participation a total number of 8 teams.
The tournament was also in collaboration with the Student Representative Council and was open to all.
It was an intense battle and finally it ended with the GARIBANLAR TEAM winning yet again for the second time carting away gold medals and N3,000 cash prize. The runners up was TEAM RESISTANCE
