Freshers Week Hiking

The Nile University of Nigeria, Student Representative Council, in collaboration with Abuja Adventurers had undergone a hiking at the end of the week. The hiking was amongst the activities organised by the SRC to welcome new students that have just been given admission.

 

 

The Hiking was done at one of the famous hiking areas chosen by the Abuja Adventurers; Mount Dragon, which is located at Dawaki Area of Abuja. It recorded a number of participants and was a lovely week to have an interesting adventure. This event was supported by Student Affairs

 

 

NAICE 2017 Exhibition attended by SPE

The society of petroleum engineers Nile university of Nigeria chapter had the opportunity of attending the NIGERIAN ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION (NAICE 2017).

The chapter attended all the activities of the 3-days conference including, technical sessions, short courses, e-Poster sessions, exhibition and students chapter contest where we came 2nd place after a presentation of all the activities of the chapter carried out the prior year.

At the contest, all chapter presidents presented the report of the activities carried out by their chapter and the judges brought out 3 winners amongst which NILE University chapter came second place.

 

At the awards night, all professionals and students worthy of awards received the awards.

Nile university of Nigeria students chapter received two prestigious awards at the awards nights, 2nd place at the students chapter contest and the Olumide Phillips Scholarship awards.

 

 

 

 

Nile University was the only school amongst both professionals and students that went to the stage twice to receive an award. This is a feat achieved by few.

Not only did we got the opportunity of attending a world class conference, we also got the opportunity of  interacting with people from different parts of the country ad world.

SPE Trip to KRPC

The society of Petroleum Engineers embarked on a field trip to the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company. They visited the following department while on the tour, which are:

Health and safety department, Drum and Tin manufacturing unit, power plant and utility department, central control room and Programming Production and Quality Control Unit.

The trip consisted of 31 students and two staff Dr. Abdullahi Gimba and Engr. Ternenge Joseph who led the delegation.
