Nile Blood Drive

The Nile University of Nigeria Student Affairs in collaboration with the Student Representative Council (SRC) and Society of Petroleum Engineers, Nile University chapter, organised a successful blood donation campaign which was sponsored by Sickle Cell Aid Foundation (SCAF) and the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) which held on the 10th November 2017.

It has in attendance Mrs Jemila from (BMRN) Bone Marrow Registry of Nigeria who gave a brief talk on stem cell donation and ways to save lives by being a donor

The event had in attendance as well, the Vice Chancellor, Dean of Student Affairs and other staff of the University.

Freshers Week Hiking

The Nile University of Nigeria, Student Representative Council, in collaboration with Abuja Adventurers had undergone a hiking at the end of the week. The hiking was amongst the activities organised by the SRC to welcome new students that have just been given admission.

 

 

The Hiking was done at one of the famous hiking areas chosen by the Abuja Adventurers; Mount Dragon, which is located at Dawaki Area of Abuja. It recorded a number of participants and was a lovely week to have an interesting adventure. This event was supported by Student Affairs

 

 

NAICE 2017 Exhibition attended by SPE

The society of petroleum engineers Nile university of Nigeria chapter had the opportunity of attending the NIGERIAN ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION (NAICE 2017).

The chapter attended all the activities of the 3-days conference including, technical sessions, short courses, e-Poster sessions, exhibition and students chapter contest where we came 2nd place after a presentation of all the activities of the chapter carried out the prior year.

At the contest, all chapter presidents presented the report of the activities carried out by their chapter and the judges brought out 3 winners amongst which NILE University chapter came second place.

 

At the awards night, all professionals and students worthy of awards received the awards.

Nile university of Nigeria students chapter received two prestigious awards at the awards nights, 2nd place at the students chapter contest and the Olumide Phillips Scholarship awards.

 

 

 

 

Nile University was the only school amongst both professionals and students that went to the stage twice to receive an award. This is a feat achieved by few.

Not only did we got the opportunity of attending a world class conference, we also got the opportunity of  interacting with people from different parts of the country ad world.

SPE Trip to KRPC

The society of Petroleum Engineers embarked on a field trip to the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company. They visited the following department while on the tour, which are:

Health and safety department, Drum and Tin manufacturing unit, power plant and utility department, central control room and Programming Production and Quality Control Unit.

The trip consisted of 31 students and two staff Dr. Abdullahi Gimba and Engr. Ternenge Joseph who led the delegation.

SPE Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The SPE, Nile University of Nigeria Chapter attended their Annual General Meeting which held at PTDF Abuja. The SPE, Nile Chapter also contributed in voting some of the members. It had within its midst the Section Chairman: Ere Iyalla, Programs Chairman: Aristotle John Emezi, Secretary: Amina Danmadami, Treasurer: Rakiya Sambo, Young Professional/Student Affairs Chair: Arinze Okafor, Membership Chair: Uloma Ugwu and the Scholarship Chair: Rahima Abubakar.

 

Gold Standard Recognition

Congratulations! Nile University of Nigeria Student Chapter has been awarded the Gold Standard Designation for 2017, in recognition of its exceptional programs in industry engagement, operations and planning, community involvement, professional development and innovation.

Alumni Reunion 2017

The Alumni Reunion 2017 was a memorable event that had in participation many graduates from the first set of 2015 to the last graduating set of the then year 2017. The reunion took place on Saturday 29th of July 2017. The event was cheered by  Barr. Ismaeel Ahmed who was the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Social Investment Programmes.

He gave a career talk to all the graduates. He advised our graduates on the need to do their best to move the country forward by first of all changing themselves.

The reunion has also a football tournament where by all the graduating sets competed on a 5-aside football tournament to remember the old days where by the winners were issued gold medals.

Nile MSSN 2017 Handing Over Ceremony

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Nile University of Nigeria Chapter had their handing over ceremony to mark end of tenure for the incumbent excos and congratulate the incoming excos to their new offices.

The event had in participation the Director of Academic Planning Prof. Saleh Abdullahi, the Dean of Post-Graduate Studies Prof Nuhu and the Ag. Director of Student Affairs Muhammad Jibrin Bamalli.

The speakers present were Sheikh Shuraim and Sheikh Muhammad Salah

SPE Welcome Picnic

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nile University of Nigeria chapter, organized a welcome picnic to its new members that recently joined the society. The picnic had in its midst the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering as well as some of its senior lecturers who blessed the event with their presence and gave their contribution.

The Nile University Spartans Emerged Winners of the 4th International Dialogue Basketball Cup for peace held on the 29th of April, 2017
